Amritsar, Dec. 21 (Punjab Post Bureau) – BBK DAV College for Women organized a seven days camp to inculcate spirit of the social service among its volunteers. The camp was inaugurated with Havan Yajna in the presence of Sh. Sudarshan Kapoor, Chairman, LMC, Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia and Ms. Harkirandeep Kaur, NSS Programme officer, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. An installation ceremony was held in which badges were distributed to NSS volunteers. A yoga workshop was also organized in which Shri Manohar Lal, S. Vikramjeet & Ms. Suneeta taught various yoga aasanas to the NSS volunteers.While interacting with the volunteers, Ms. Harkirandeep Kaur expressed her views on the role of NSS in the progress of the society. She advised the volunteers to serve the underprivileged people committedly. Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia congratulated the NSS unit on organising the camp. Addressing the volunteers, she said that NSS plays a vital role in the selfless service of the society. Even Vedas and Gurbani emphasize the service of mankind. So, the volunteers should keep the spark of community service alive. Sh. Sudarshan Kapoor, Chairman, LMC, gave the vote of thanks and felicitated the faculty and students in their ventures. Mrs. Surbhi Sethi & Mrs. Priya Sharma NSS Programme officers, along with other team members, participated in the camp.
