Vajra Corps celebrate Veterans Day

Jalandhar, Jan. 14 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Vajra Corps celebrated Veterans Day at Katoch Stadium, Jalandhar Cantt PPN1401201801on Sunday.  Lt Gen Dushyant Singh, General Officer Commanding Vajra Corps inaugurated the event. Veterans Day is a time to thank all those who have served in the Indian Army and guarded the nation against all odds. About 1000 Ex-servicemen gathered to celebrate the Veterans Day 2018. The basic objective behind the celebration was to honour and resolve the problems of the Ex-servicemen if any.

            The event was organized in coordination with Sainik Welfare Department, Zila Sainik Welfare Board, Civil and Police administration and assistance from public and private corporations.  A large number of military, civil, police, public & private corporate officials attended the event. The event included distribution of Job Cards, hearing aids, modified scooters and various other equipments to the needy veterans. A medical camp was also organized during the event for the benefit of the veterans. Beside this, stalls of Defence Pension Disbursement Office, Army Welfare Placement Node, Civil Administration Grievances Cell and Zila Sainik Welfare Board were also established which helped the veterans to resolve their grievances.
