CITY STUDENTS & MENTOR DECLARED TOP INNOVATORS BY AIM, NITI AAYOG

Amritsar, Feb. 1 (Punjab Post Bureau) – It is a matter of immense pride for DAV Public Schoo Lawrence Road that a  PPN0102201809team comprising of Kuvam Devgan (XII Science), Rachit Rajiv Sharma (XII Science), Parth Gupta (VII) & Rishab Aggarwal (XI Science) mentored by Resham Sharma (ATL-in–Charge) has been declared as top innovators in the field of ‘Agritech’ for developing a Smart Grain Storage Prototype complete with Sensors and IoT (Internet of Things) in the recently concluded Atal Tinkering Marathon conducted across various schools in India by Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), NITI Aayog. The announcement came on a live Facebook stream by AIM Mission Director Shri R. Ramanan who applauded the efforts of all top 30 schools across the nation for presenting unique solutions in the form of working prototypes which will now be developed into technology for real world application to various social and scientific challenges being faced by India. The marathon witnessed very stiff competition with more than 3500+ students submitting 6000+ entries for the various thrust areas.  It is noteworthy to mention that this is the only team from Punjab to have been selected by an esteemed panel of judges comprising of Shri Prakash Bhai Vaghasiya (Founder of vise innovative soultion enterprise & Winner of Top 20 Social Innovations National Contest in Organic Farming) and Dr. Rajesh Nair (Asian School of Business, Massachusetts Institute of Technology- MIT, USA).

 The winning team was congratulated by Regional Director, Punjab Zone-A, Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamraand Manager of the school, Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Principal, D.A.V College Amritsar. Dr. (Mrs.) Neera Sharma Principal of the school applauded the wonderful achievement of the team for taking forward the innovative vision of the Atal Tinkering Lab operational at the school since July 2017 and urged the students to keep on tinkering.
