62nd Annual Award Presentation Function Held at DAV College

700 Students Awarded Prizes for their Academic Excellence & Co-curricular Activities

Amritsar, Apr. 3 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Around 700 Students were awarded prizes and certificates of merits for their excellent academic and other curriculum performances at DAV College on April 3, 2018 on the occasion of 62^nd Annual Award Presentation Function. The students were also awarded prizes for their extra-ordinary performance in sports, CCA, NCC, NSS and other social activities. Students of NCC were awarded College Color award for their spectacular performance during the academic session.

 M.L Sekhri Vice PresidentDAV College Managing Committee New Delhi was the chief guest on the occasion. Besides Advocate Sudershan Kapoor Chairman Local Managing Committee was also present during the occasion.

Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Registrar Prof S.C Sachdeva, Administrator Dr. Rajni Khanna and Staff Secretary Dr. B.B Yadav accorded a warm welcome to the guest. The event began with lighting of Deepshikha and DAV Anthem.

Speaking on the occasion Principal, Dr. Rajesh Kumar welcomed M.L Sekhri and other dignitaries for their presence on the occasion. Besides it, he congratulated all the prize winners for their efforts in bringing laurels to the institution and also motivated them to cultivate the habit of putting their best efforts in pursuit of excellence. Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar read the annual report of the session 2017-18 of the college and also released college Campus Vibes during the event. While encouraging students to work harder, Shri M.L Sekhri, quoted various examples from the lives of great leaders. He also added that students should move on proper path rather than selecting short cuts in order to reach destination as success simply comes to those who work impatiently for achieving goals in their life. He bestowed his benevolence on all the prize winners and motivated them to lead a virtuous life. During the function, nearly 700 students were awarded prizes among which various students were awarded with gold, silver and bronze medal for their achievements in the field of academics, 42 awards were given to NCC, 16 awards to NSS volunteers, 34 awards were given to the students of CCA Department and 145 students were awarded for donating blood at various places. On the occasion, College colours were given Naval Cadet Gurcharan, Air Cadet Ashu, Air Cadet Gurpreet of the college for their best performance.                

The vote of thanks was presented by Dr. B B Yadav Secretary Staff Council. The principals of various colleges and schools, teaching members of the college also graced the occasion with their presence.
