Nishkam Sikh Welfare Council organizes Scholarship Distribution Function at GNDU

Amritsar April 18  (Punjab Post Bureau) –  A Scholarship Distribution function organized by Nishkam Sikh PPN1804201803Welfare Council (Regd.) with the association of Sikh Human Development Council (U.S.A) at Sri Guru Granth Sahib Bhawan,, Guru Nanak Dev University. Prof. Kamaljit Singh, Dean Academic Affairs of the University was chief guest in the function.

B.S Sekhon President of Nishkam Sikh Welfare Council (Amritsar unit) welcomed the guests, faculty, students and their parents. He has introduced that how Nishkam Sikh Welfare Council (Amritsar) developed in Amritsar.

Kawaljit Singh Talwar New Delhi has emphasized various activities of Nishkam Sikh Welfare Council and Sikh Human development Council (U.S.A). He has briefly discussed various projects through which these organizations are supporting the needy and poor students through out of the country. He has also motivated the students to come forward as volunteer to serve and contribute for humanity. He congratulated all the students who have passed the test and interview conducted by the organization and finally received the scholarships.

Dr. H.P. Singh introduced with different activities performed by Nishkam Sikh Welfare Council (Amritsar unit). He has explained the role of ‘Computer Centre’ run by Nishkam Sikh Welfare Council (Amritsar unit) at Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar Campus for providing computer education on nominal rates.

Prof. Kamaljit Singh congratulated all the students who received the Scholarships on this occasion. He has appreciated the role of Nishkam Sikh Welfare Council and Sikh Human Development Council for financially supporting the needy students in their education country. He suggested the students to do hard-work for achieving valuable education and become good person in the life. He has also praised the role of Prof. Harjit Singh (Retired), Founder President for his involvement and development of Nishkam Sikh Welfare Council (Amritsar unit).  He conveyed through his message that all those students who are receiving scholarship must identify the other needy students in the society and support them.

Tirath Singh has appreciated the initiatives taken by Prof. Jaspal Singh Sandhu Vice Chancellor for making the university environment green and eco-friendly. He also added that Nishkam Sikh Welfare Council is always thankful to the authorities of Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar for extending their support as and when was required.

A large number of teachers, employees and students of the university were present in the scholarship distribution function. Jagjit Singh Walia extended vote of thanks to all the guests, faculty, students and their parents at the occasion.
