Annual Prize Distribution organized at GGSS School Mall Road

School uniforms distributed to 100 needy students

Amritsar, Apr. 19 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Annual prize distribution& Felicitation function was organized at Government Girls Senior Secondary School, The Mall, Amritsar, where students were awarded with stoles, trophies and cash prizes. On the occasion, were present as chief guest, esteemed MLA Sunil Dutti along with special guests Jugal Kishore Sharma Pres. Distt. Congress Urban and Sh. Ashwani Sharma Pres. PTA. Total of 21 students of grades 6^th to 12^thwere felicitated with prizes, for bagging first 3 positions in academics. Also, 8 players were rewarded with prizes for bringing laurels to the school at National level. Under the guidance of Distt. Education Officer (SE) Mrs. Sunita Kiran, Distt. Science Supervisor Mrs. Sudeep Kaur and Kamal Kumar Lect. Chemistry of the school, the outstanding science student Miss. Pulkit was also felicitated, who got the opportunity to visit Japanunder Sakura Exchange Program for a week at Govt. expense,after being selected as Amritsar’s sole student among a group of 30 teens selected at national level. Apart from this, school uniforms were also distributed to 100 needy students. Sunil Dutti appreciated and extended his best wishes to the students & staff for their dedication and devotion.

Principal Mrs. Mandeep Kaur welcomed the esteemed chief guest and special guests on the occasion and acquainted them with the school’s achievements. While congratulating the students, she mentioned that the students are not only outshining schools and their family’s name in academics as well as in sports at district, state and national level but also they are well aware of the prevalent evils and vices of the society. She anticipated bright results and better achievements from the students in the upcoming sessions. She also appreciated the honest endeavors and devotion of school staff. On the Ocassion, Chaman Lal Setia Exports Limited, Amritsar, Ashwani Sharma, Mrs. Gursharan Kaur Bhatia, Rupinder Kataria and Dr. B.D. Lakhanpal from Sewa Smiti, were especially thanked and honored for facilitating the school in helping poor & needy students from time to time. School staff members S. Amarjit Singh, Mohinderpal Singh, Ms. Adarsh Sharma, Mrs. Raman Kalia and school’s retired teachers Mrs. Jaswinder Kaur and Mrs. Suman were particularly thanked and honored for their financial contributions to school management committee. Madam Kawalinder Kaur(Voc. Lecturer) and Madam Mandeep Kaur (Lecturer English) hosted the stage. All staff of the school made their presence at the event.
