Jakhar to inaugurate Post Office Passport Sewa Kendra at Pathankot on May 23

Pathankot, May 21 (Punjab Post Bureau) – In order to facilitate the people of border districts to apply for passport at their nearest destination, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has decided to open a Post Office Passport Sewa Kendra at Pathankot which would be inaugurated by the Lok Sabha Member and President of Punjab Pradesh Congress Mr. Sunil Jakhar on May 23. Divulging the details, Regional Passport Officer Mr. Harmanbir Singh Gill said that Kendra would be inaugurated on May 23. He said that the appointments for the kendra would be released from May 18 adding that initially only 50 appointments would be released daily which would be enhanced subsequently. Mr. Gill said that the applicants would have to fill the form for passport application online. 

The Regional Passport officer said that the online appointment for the Post Office Passport Sewa Kendra, would be allotted by the system as per the availability. He said that the applicants could book their appointment online on websitewww.passportindia.gov.in. Mr. Gill said that this Post Office Passport Sewa Kendra would be very beneficial for people living in the border districts of the state. He said that it would save the time of applicants especially the senior citizens, who had to come after covering a long distance to submit their documents in Jalandhar and Hoshiarpur.

Reiterating the firm commitment of his office for better service of the people, Mr. Gill said that for details related to passport services, the same website or the national call centre toll free number 1800-258-1800 could be contacted.
