Teachers’ Day Celebration by Sahodaya Schools Complex on Sept. 1

Aug 30 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Teachers’ Day is celebrated to mark the birth anniversary of the second President of India Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan which falls on  September 5.  This great scholar , diplomat and eminent educator believed that teachers are the nation builders and must  be held with reverence in the society and therefore he wished his birth day to be observed as Teachers’ Day.

This year DAV Public School, Lawrence Road has got the privilege to  host the celebrations of  Teachers’ Day under  the  aegis of  Sahodaya Schools Complex  Amritsar, Gurdaspur & Tarn Taran on 1st September 2018. O.P. Soni , Education  Minister  Punjab will  grace the occasion as the Chief Guest of the day. Keeping up with the tradition of honouring the Principal & teachers on this momentous occasion, 5 Principals & 125 teachers i. e one best teacher of the year each from  the public schools under Sahodaya Schools  Complex and the Principal of that school will be honoured for their distinguished  service.

President Sahodaya Schools Complex Dharamvir Ji Principal Sri Guru Harkrishan Sen.Sec. Public School in his message said that teachers are an inspiring hope for the society  and a nation can progress under the guidance of the enlightening teachers. He saluted the teachers of the city for their dedication and hoped to bring a positive change in the society with their contribution.

Dr. Neera Sharma Principal of the host school expressed her happiness at the great honour bestowed upon the school to host this year’s celebration. She said that teachers are the role model for the students and their good work must be recognised. She added that it was an honour and joy for her to welcome all the great and eminent Principals and the teachers of the city on this auspicious occasion.
