Students of DAV Public School awarded Certificates of Participation and Excellence

PPN1110201809Amritsar, Oct. 11 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The students of Master Class & Kitchen Garden by Gayatri’s Gourmet at DAV Public School Lawrence Road were awarded Certificates of Participation and of Excellence at the culmination of Season-1. The certificates were given away by the Principal of the school Dr. Neera Sharma. The Culinary classes conducted by Ms. Gayatri Peshawaria, Chef & Founder of Gayatri’s Gourmet, Master Class is a unique farm to fork programme which empowers children to make wise food choices through farming, cooking, baking, serving and recycling activities. Through the duration of the programme the junior chefs from grades 4 to 12 have cooked cross cultural foods with organic ingredients in a pleasurable environment. They were also exposed to recipe writing, kitchen gardening, food tasting, table manners, and much more.

The students of Master Class had the honour of cooking, plating and serving six courses of a healthy organic meal for Padamshree Arya Ratan Dr. Punam Suri President DAV CMC New Delhi.  The little chefs also had the opportunity to cook and serve Chef Manjit Gill at Majha House, President of International federation of Culinary Associations & Culinary Advisor to ITC Hotels.

Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra, Regional Officer Punjab Zone–A applauded the efforts the children and supported the much needed cause of food education and organic farming. Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Manager, DAV Public School, appreciated and congratulated the children on the successful completion of season 1. Dr. (Mrs.) Neera Sharma, Principal, DAV Public School, also wished the children and said, “Food education is a need of the hour in this age of packaged and fast food. I congratulate Gayatri and the students of Master Class for working diligently towards the cause of food education and I hope more parents, educators and children would support this cause. ” Master Class & Kitchen Garden is now enrolling for season- 2 at DAV Public School.
