ITI institute to be established at Ramtirh with Rs. 10 crore – Sidhu

Amritsar, Oct. 24 (Punjab Post Bureau) –  Exhorting the people to follow the teachings of Bhagwan Valmiki ji to PPN2410201809further strengthen the society on moral principles, Punjab local bodies minister Navjot Singh Sidhu today said that only following of such teachings could make the people able to create society based on principles of equality and brotherhood.

             While addressing the state level function on Bhagwan Valmiki Jayanti Mr. Sidhu said that high ideals of Bhagwan Valmiki ji would always guide the people to contribute towards the betterment of society and these teachings are more relevant in the present society in which most of people are inclined towards materialistic gains turning their eyes away from their moral responbilities towards others. The state level function was commenced with paying tributes to persons killed in tragic train accident in Amritsar on Dussehra.

            Recalling the tragic train accident occurred in Amritsar Mr.Sidhu said, ” I promise to take care of all the families who who have lost their loved ones or whose members have got injuries in tragic train accident. For me,these families are are like my own family”.

            Local bodies minister said that this is the real tragedy of our times that the number of people with high characters is decreasing and most of people are being guided by their individual interests. Mr. Sidhu said that it is very painful that some people with their cheap interests are playing politics over tragic train mishap rather than helping the victim families. ” I will always be respectful towards people of Amritsar who always have given me support and encouragment to do for the betterment of society” said Sidhu.

            Local bodies minister announced that an ITI institute would be established at Ramtirh with Rs. 10 crore and  Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has already announced to release the required funds soon.

            In his address MLA Dr. Raj Kumar Verka said that the center government has totally failed in taking steps for upliftment of weaker sections particularly the Valmiki Community. Criticising the central government Dr. Verka said that it has collected Rs. 25000crore as cess on the name of swachh Bharat Abhiyan and expend Rs 87000crore on publicity related with this abhiyan but has totally failed to provide money for upliftment of weaker sections of society.

Earlier all the present observed two minutes’ silence to pay tribute to those persons who lost their lives in tragic train accident. Deputy Commissioner Kamaldeep Singh Sangha, Police Commissioner S. Srivastava, MLA Sunil Dutti and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.
