National Sports  Day held in Sri Guru Harkrishan Sen. Sec. Public School G.T. Road .

Amritsar, August,  29 ( Manjit Kaur) – National Sports Day was organized in G.T. Road School to mark the birth anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand , the hockey player who won many gold medals in the years -1928 , 1932 and 1936 . Various sports events were organized with a flavour of recreational activities. The Principal Dr. Dharam Veer Singh accorded a warm welcome to S. Harminder Singh and S. Navpreet Singh, Managers G.T. Road, Amritsar. The Programme began with the flag hoisting ceremony done by S. Harminder Singh. After the school shabad various sports events were enjoyed such as Gymnastics, Rope Skipping, Sack race, Lemon and Spoon race. The Principal and the school Management honoured 20 students of the school who have played at the National Level in different sports activities. Navjit Kaur our old Discus throw player was also honoured on this occasion for her outstanding achievements at the National and International Levels.   S. Harminder Singh appreciated the lively spirit displayed by the participants in various sports activities. The Principal and the Management applauded the efforts made by sports faculty. He said that such sports activities are equally important for the all round development of a student, instilling sportsman spirit among the players. The sports Day culminated with the National Anthem.
