Alumni Meet of the Golden Jubilee Year -2019 at GNDU

GNDUAmritsar, Feb. 8 (Punjab Post Bureau) –  The Alumni Meet of the Golden Jubilee Year-2019 of the Guru Nanak Dev University will be held on 9th February 2019 (Saturday) at Sri Guru Granth Sahib Bhawan of the University. The Alumni Meet will be attended by a large number of alumni of the University from wide range of spheres like Judiciary, IAS, Customs & Excise and so many other from PCS, Defence Services, State Town Planners, Industrialists, Academician, GM of various organisations. The Alumni Meet formally will be inaugurated by lightening of Lamp by the Justice Fatehdeep Singh Chief Guest and Prof. J. S. Sandhu Vice-Chancellor.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Jaspal Singh Sandhu will preside over the Alumni Meet. He will also discuss the significance of community culture amongst alumni and faculty, for taking the University ahead globally. Justice Fatehdeep Singh will be the Chief Guest. Registrar Prof. K.S. Kahlon will welcome the Alumni of the University. Prof. B.S. Bajwa, Dean Alumni Association will present Report of AAGNDU and open the discussions for the futuristic measures required to strengthen the University. Justice Fatehdeep Singh Chief Guest, Sh. S K Sharma (DGP-Retd.) Guest of Honor and S. Dilbagh Singh (DGP J & K) Guest of Honor will share their experiences and memories on this occasion. The Vote of Thanks would be presented by Prof. Kamaljit Singh, Dean Academic Affairs.

Dr. Manmohan Singh (IPS & Additional Director Intelligence Bureau); Dr. Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh (IGP) & Vice-President of Executive Council AAGNDU; S. Manjit Singh Nijjar (UK) Second Vice-President of AAGNDU & Advisor UK & Europe Chapter; Dr. Vijay Babbar (President, Eastern Canada Chapter & Member Alumnus  from Abroad of AAGNDU); S. Rajbir Singh Randhawa (President, US Chapter), S. Surjit Singh Sandhu (President UK & Europe Chapter); will also share their experiences and memories with the alumni.

Gurdev Singh Sahota (ADGP-Retd.); Dr. Manpreet Singh (DGPC); Balwinder Singh (Secretary, Dharam Prachaar Committee); Mr. Manohar Kant Lakhotia (PSEB Chairman); Mr. Lakhmir Singh  (Joint Secretary-cum-Joint Director Tourism & Cultural Affairs, Punjab);  Mrs. Harpreet  Randhawa  (Vice President, Canada BC Chapter); S. Jagdeep Singh (Secretary, UK & Europe Chapter); S. NP Singh (Dean PTU); Dr. Jasbir Singh Hundal (Registrar, PTU) will also be attending the meeting.

AAGNDU has dedicated itself to the cause of alumni by launching a website to strengthen the relationship with alumni settled in India and abroad, where alumni can register themselves online on this portal. This online portal has become more popular and more than thousands of alumni have already registered online on this portal. The registration is completely free of charges. A portion for the achievers alumni has also been kept on the website which provides brief profile of the renowned Alumni. We are now in process for collecting more wider details of alumni from various departments through our Alumni Teacher Incharges and reconcile the list to strengthen our database. Later, the cultural activities would be performed by Famous Singer Ranjit Bawa and other participants from Music Department of Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. Worthy Vice Chancellor will honor the eminent alumni on behalf of the University.
