Awareness programme on “Climate Change” organized at DAV College

Amritsar, March 30 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The department of Botany organized an awareness programme on climate change at DAV College Amritsar on March 28, 2019 sponsored by Punjab State Council of Science and Technology (PSCST), Chandigarh. Prof Avinash Nagpal, Professor, Department of Botanical and Environmental Sciences, GNDU, Asr was the resource person during the event.

Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar and Dr Daizy Sharma, Head Department of Botany also gave floral welcome to the speaker of the day.  While briefing the students, Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar highlighted the effects and solutions of Climate change on the environment.   He also motivated the students to become aware about effects of global warming and how they can play their role as citizens in improving it.

            Speaking on the occasion, Prof Avinash Nagpal delivered a lecture on Climate Change and highlighted current problems of climate change and global warming.  She also motivated the participants to make individual efforts to make our environment safer for this generation and also the future generation.

During the event, Poster Making competition and Idea Presentation competitions were  also organized by the department for the students of College. Prizes were also awarded to the winners of these competitions.

Dr. Rajni Bala, Dr. Ashish Gupta, Prof Amanjot Kaur, Dr Rakesh Joshi, Prof. Mehak Khosla, were also present during the occasion.
