DAV Public School Observes World Book Day

Amritsar, April 23 (Punjab Post Bureau) – DAV Public School Lawrence Road  conducted  a special assembly on World Book and copyright day. By celebrating this day, UNESCO seeks to promote reading, publishing and the protection of copyright. The 23^rd of April is a symbolic date in remembrance of the deaths of William Shakespeare, Migual de Cervantes and William Wordsworth.

       The students spoke about the importance of this day. It is a celebration of authors , illustrators, books and most importantly reading. They highlighted the importance of reading that how it nurtures creativity, makes understanding better, kills boredom and most importantly gives a meaning to life. They also sang songs and recited poems on the same theme.

        Regional Officer Punjab Zone–A Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra and the Manager of the school Dr. Rajesh Kumar advised the students to develop a healthy habit of reading  books as a man of reading  is a man of culture.

        Dr. Neera Sharma, Principal of the school while addressing to students said that only a sincere reader knows what divine pleasure he gets from reading books. His attitude, ideas and imagination changes and he develops life skills as well.
