UGC-HRDC, GNDU concludes the first online course on “IPR and Ethics”

 

Amritsar August 6 ( Punjab Post Bureau) – One Week Online Short Term Course on ‘Intellectual Property Rights & Ethics’ was concluded at UGC-Human Resource Development Centre of Guru Nanak Dev University.

The valedictory session commenced with course briefing presented by Dr. Rajbir Bhatti, Deputy Director and Course Coordinator. Prof. Adarsh Pal Vig, Director, HRDC welcomed the Chief Guest Prof. Hardeep Singh, Dean Students’ Welfare for the valedictory session.

Prof. Hardeep Singh emphasized that online trainings of teachers was the need of the hour in these times when pandemic was rampant. IPR and Ethics need to be taught to one and all involved in the research and teaching. This course included 18 sessions with lectures delivered by resource persons from premier institutions of India including TIFAC- DST, Delhi; CSIR-IIIM, Jammu; Delhi University, Delhi; Panjab university, Chandigarh; Rajiv Gandhi National Law University, Patiala; MDU, Rohtak, IPR Cell-HSCST, Panchkula etc. The resource persons enlightened the participants about the various aspects of Intellectual Property Rights, ethics in publishing, filing of patents, copyrights, infringement of copyrights and trademarks etc. The participants had fruitful discussions during the course and appreciated the first online course as being an enriching experience. The course concluded on an emotional note with participants expressing their gratefulness towards the organizing team and the HRDC staff. The participants expressed their wish to visit GNDU when the pandemic is over.  Dr. Bimaldeep Singh, course co-coordinator proposed the vote of thanks.
