DAV Public School celebrated Birth Anniversary of Sardar Patel as Rashritya Ekta Diwas

Amritsar, Oct. 31 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Aiming at the all round development of the students, and to re- affirm the inherent strength and resilience of our nation to withstand the actual and potential threats to the unity, integrity and security of our country, mass activities were organised at DAV Public School, Lawrence Road to mark the Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhai Patel as the Rashritya Ekta Diwas . These activities were taken up under the direction of CBSE to spread the message of Unity, Safety and Security to all school students. The school organised various activities like Rashtriya Ekta Diwas Pledge , Run for Unity, Declamation , Poster making , Painting , Collage making , Jingle making , Sports activities and an Online quiz. 28 schools from Amritsar were invited to participate in these activities. As many as 200 students from 12 schools reported for this project. The students from different participating schools assembled in the campus of DAV Public School for the morning assembly. The assembly was dedicated to the Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel. The assembly reverberated with inspirational songs giving message for unity and brotherhood. The students took the National Unity Pledge. The pledge was taken to honour the great leader and instill the values of Sacrifice, Patriotism and Nationalism among the students. After taking the pledge the students took part in ‘Run for Unity’. The students began their march from the school holding placards with slogans on Unity, Safety and Security and walked through the main city.

              On their return to the school , they were divided into groups and sent to the venues for other activities. All the students participated enthusiastically in these activities.

 Jingle Making : Jingle making was carried out in English and Hindi language. It was a hit among the students as they composed many interesting jingles. It was a team effort and all the students contributed in preparing the final broth. 17 students participated in it .

 Poster making , collage and painting activity : The imagination and creativity of students could be seen in posters, paintings and collages made by them . As many as 60 student participated in these three activities.

 Declamation : The topic ‘United we stand , Divided we Fall’ for declamation was rightly chosen by the school to commemorate the celebration of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas. The students presented their views and thoughts on the topic and discussed in depth the significance of the maxim. 26 students portrayed their oratory skills in this activity.The school also presented a Nukkad Natak under the innovative category based on the theme corruption.

  Indigenious games :   Under this the school organised Kabbadi, Kho – Kho and Yoga activities in which 25 , 48 and 21 students from different schools participated.

            All the activities were taken up in the right spirit. The zeal and vigor of the students could be seen from the posters, paintings, jingles etc created by them. In the end all the students , around 200 , participated in the March Past and National Anthem to conclude the celebrations of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas.  Dr. Neera Sharma Principal of the school , while addressing the students said that this mission should not be taken up for a day, it should be a life long process projecting global unity and brotherhood.
