Review meeting of Aadhaar  in Tarn Taran  district

Tarn Taran, July 7 (Punjab Post Bureau) – A review meeting on Aadhaar progress in Tarn Taran district was held under the chairpersonship of Ms Bhawna Garg IAS, Deputy Director General, Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) Regional Office Chandigarh in presence of DC Tarn Taran Moneesh Kumar IAS.

             As the district has fared well in attaining universal Aadhaar saturation in age category above 18 years, Ms Bhawna Garg said district ought to focus on completing pending Aadhaar coverage especially in age category 0-5 years. Aadhaar saturation in age category 0-5 years for district is 46%.

            The DDG said to expedite Aadhaar enrolment of children district ought to lay focus on deploying more kits in Aanganwaris for which 8 enrolment kits have been procured by state Registrar Department of Food and Civil Supplies 

                 The Deputy Commissioner Sh. Moneesh Kumar IAS suggested that district administration will plan to organize  Aadhaar camps along with ongoing immunization drives to provide fillip to Aadhaar coverage of children in age category below 5 years

            The DC informed that total 84 Aadhaar enrolment centres are functional in the district as of now.

             Ms Bhawna Garg also laid emphasis on completing mandatory biometric update for children after they have attained the age of 5 and 15 years.  The mandatory biometric updation is free of cost.

                It was also emphasized that residents should get their mobile number updated in Aadhaar. Addition of mobile number in Aadhaar allows residents to avail many services of Aadhaar online such as downloading eAadhaar, updating demographic details in Aadhaar online etc

                The meeting was attended by officials from concerned departments.
