Amritsar, September 20 (Punjab Post Bureau) – In the SGPC’s executive committee meeting, approval was given to install a solar energy plant at Gurdwara Sahib Patshahi Nauvin, Baba Bakala Sahib.
SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami said that the SGPC is continuously working to increase the use of natural resources and under this; solar energy plants have already been installed in several Gurdwaras. Now, a plant will be installed at Gurdwara Sri Baba Bakala Sahib, and in future, installation of solar plants will be expanded to other Gurdwaras too.
He said that for the convenience of the pilgrims arriving at Sri Darbar Sahib in Amritsar, a large parking lot and sarais will be constructed by establishing a multi-storied building at the location of Akali Bagh. The problems encountered for the construction work at Akali Bagh location with an area of about 7 acres have been resolved and the construction will start soon.
SGPC President informed that the preparations for 100 year centenary of Saka Sri Panja Sahib are ongoing and an advanced SGPC delegation is likely to visit Pakistan soon to outline the congregations. He said that in this regard, correspondence is in process with Pakistan’s embassy at Delhi and it is hoped that an advance delegation will visit Pakistan this month.
During the SGPC EC meeting, condolence resolutions were also passed to pay tributes to Takht Sri Harmandar Ji Patna Sahib management committee president Avtar Singh Hit, Didar Singh Bains of USA, former SGPC member Gurinderpal Singh Rayiya and Gurdeep Singh Jira, who passed away in recent past.
