CPS S. Harmeet Singh Sandhu announced Rs. 5 Lac Grant to Chief Khalsa Diwan Sports Development
Amritsar, Dec. 16 (Manjit Kaur) – Closing and Prize Distribution Function of 16th Sri Guru Harkrishan Public Schools Tournament is the one of most exalted event of Chief Khalsa Diwan, which was held this time at Sri Guru Harkrishan Sen. Sec. School,Taran Tarn. It is on the day when winner schools and best players (under-14, under-17, under 19, Boys and Girls) of various games like Table Tennis, Fencing, Hockey, Kabbadi, Football, Basket Ball, Kho-Kho, Skating, Volleyball, Badminton, Chess, Hand ball, Taekwondo Athletics, are rewarded and honored for their outstanding achievements in tournaments. This year more than 6000 students of Primary and Secondary games from the various schools run under Chief Khalsa Diwan participated in the tournaments.
The event was exalted by the presence of Chief Guest S. Harmeet Singh Sandhu, Chief Parlimentary Secretary ( Punjab). The function was presided over by Hon’ble President CKD S. Charanjit Singh Chadha. School Member Incharge S. Harjeet Singh, S. Kuljit Singh, S. Navjot Singh and Principal Madam Navneet kaur Ahuja welcomed all the present dignitaries, principals of Harkrishan Schools and other esteemed guests. Tournament report was presented by Hon. Sec. Education Committee Dr. Jaswinder Singh Dhillon. The students dressed in colourful attires presented a splendid cultural program which gave elegance and grace to the programe. President S. Chranjirt Singh Chadha urged the students to concentrate on their studies and also to actively participate in sports so essential for grooming of students. Chief Guest S. Harmeet Singh Sandhu appreciated the spirited performance of students which reflected their zeal, enthusiasm and confidence, He also announced an amount of Rs. 5 Lac to Chief Khalsa Diwan sports development.
The student’s wild cheers rent the air when Sri Guru Harkrishan Public School G.T. Road, Amritsar was declared the overall champions of the Sports Meet winning over all Trophy Games, whereas Tarn Taran School clinched the Overall Athletic Trophy., Best player, schools winning first position in each games were honored and awarded. Principals and coaches of winner schools, host schools organizing games, principals from other schools on duty during games and other present dignitaries were also honoured at this memorable occasion.
The program drew to a close with retreat ceremony and the flag was handed respectfully to the Deputy Director Sports S. lakhbir Singh Khiala. by the President S. Charanjit Singh Chadha and Chief Guest S. Harmeet Singh Sandhu. The dignitaries present on the occasion were Resident president S. Nirmal Sing, Hon. Secy. S. Narinder Singh Khurana, S.
