Jaitley seeks votes from Christian Community in Amritsar

Amritsar, March 24 ( Paritam Singh)- SAD-BJP combine candidate for Amritsar Lok Sabha seat and senior national leader Arun Jaitley today reached out to the Christian community, seeking their support during the election canvassing. Jaitley said that Amritsar constituency comprised of people coming from diverse religions and culture and he want to represent every one of them in the national Parliament. Jaitley accompanied by BJP state chief Kamal Sharma, Cabinet Minister Anil Joshi and vice president Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina asked the Christian community members to extend him support and he would take up the issues pertaining to the community in particular and society in general. He said BJP respect the minority communities and understand their concern which would be addressed at the priority level. Jaitley maintained that he had visited the churches world over but on seeing the architectural style of the churches in the `holy city’ he had been bowled over by. “I am impressed by the heritage buildings of the churches in the city of Amritsar. There are part and parcel of the rich cultural heritage of the city’’, said he adding that he had faith that he would get full support from the Christian community in the city. While talking to the community leaders including father Peter and Bishop Dimpi, Jaitley said there is a wave in favour fot he NDA in the country and the Congress which is neck deep in the corruption and mis-governance during their UPA 10 years rule will be routed in the elections
