“Legendary warrior Baba Banda Singh Bahadur–Sikh Raj staged by Punjabi Theater Academy (UK).

Amritsar, September 27 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Sri Guru Harkrishan International School, Ranjit Aveuue organized a light-and-sound play “Legendary warrior Baba Banda Singh Bahadur–Sikh Raj (1699-1706) “ staged by Punjabi Theater Academy (UK). This play unfolded many chapters of Sikh commander Baba Banda Singh Bahadur exposing his bravery saga as part his 300th anniversary celebrations. Powerful performers from UK well narrated the martyr’s fight against Mughals, his efforts to abolish Zamindari system, killing of Wazir Khan  and establishment of Khalsa rule. The play took back the audience to the period of 1706-1716 when Sri Guru Gobind Singh ji stood against injustice of Mughals with a passing reference of four Sahibzadas sacrifice.The play was staged artistically exposing various life aspects of courageous life of  first sovereign ruler of Punjab i.e Baba Banda Singh Bahadur.   1. Tarlochn Singh (Former Member Rajya Sabha, National Commission of Minority) witnessed the grand show as Chief Guest and Sh. Suresh Mahajan (Chairman Improvement Trust) reached as an honorable guest in the program presided over by President CKD S. Charanjit Singh Chadha .The program began with School Shabad followed by welcome address by Member Incharge Engineer Jaspal Singh.ppn2609201609

All guests were welcomed warmly by Principal Ripudaman. S. Chadha expressed concern that it was little known to the modern day youngsters that Baba Banda Singh Bahadur made supreme sacrifice for the cause of sikh religion.such functions would go a long way in creating awareness in the minds of younger generation. SGPC Secy. S. Daljit Singh Bedi appreciated the tireless efforts of Chief Khalsa Diwan to make aware the young generation of their glorious past. Sh. Suresh Mahajan was all praised for making express the statesmanship and prejudicial personality of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur in such a way through play.

Addressing the gathering Chief Guest S. Tarlochan Singh said that there is a need to educate people about the rich history and tradition of Punjab including its leaders like Banda Singh Bahadur .Accordinng to Resident President  S. Nirmal Singh , Banda Singh Bahadur fought many battles against cruelty of the rulers in favor of truth and justice protecting honour and tradition of Sikh religion and all must learn lesson from the life of such great man. The program culminated with honoring ceremony of  the guests ,director and producer of play S. Tajinder Pal .Singh (UK) and other  artists. At this occasion, Honorary Secy. S. Narinder Singh Khurana , member Incharge Mrs Amarpali, S. Harjit Singh Chadha, S. Harminderr Singh, S. Santokh Singh Sethi, Dr. Dharamveer Singh along other Member Incharges  were present.
