Guest lecture on Women Empowerment with Higher Education held at DAV College

Amritsar, Sept. 26 (Punjab Post Bureau)- The Women grievances and redressal cell of DAV College Amritsar took an initiative to organize a Guest Lecture on Women Empowerment with Higher Education. On this occasion, Dr Renu Bhardwaj, Professor Botany and Environmental Sciences, GNDU was the resource person, who inspired the students for women empowerment through Higher education.

Dr Vishwa Bandhu, Vice Principal of the College congratulated all the female staff members on the occasion.  He added that such events are necessary to upgrade the social, economic, cultural and political status of women in society. While speaking on the occasion, Dr Renu Bhardwaj stressed upon the importance of Higher education of girls for better society. She said that girl education is the only gateway of women empowerment.  She also talked about the life and problems of Girl Child in present society and suggested few outcomes to resolve these existing problems.

Prof Parveen Kumari, Department of Punjabi was the convenor of the event.  While addressing the guests she said that such events help in accelerating gender parity. She added that Education among women is the most powerful tool of attaining power in the society. It helps in reducing inequalities and functions as a means for improving their status within the family and society. Prof Nivedita Sharma, Dr Kamal Jeet Rana, Dr Anita Prabhakar, Dr Kiran Khanna, Prof Loveleen Kaur and Prof Nihita Sharma were also present during the event.
