Eco-friendly Diwali for DAV Public School

Amritsar , Oct. 22 (Manjit Kaur) – The Diwali celebrations marked gaiety at DAV Public School, Lawrence Road. The auspicious festival of lights, when festivities and lined up one after the other was charged with festive fervour symbolising triumph of good over evil. The students paid obeisance to Lord Ganesha and recited Mantras praying for health and prosperity for everyone. The school campus reverberated with the recitation of holy mantras spreading divinity around.

               On this occasion Diwali Card   making, Phonos making and Poster making competitions were held. During the morning assembly the students presented a role–play to give a message for celebrating Diwali in an eco–friendly way by saying ‘No’ to crackers and helpling the poor on this day. This festival is celebrated throughout India with great zeal and enthusiasm. The students emphasised that the festival should be celebrated in its right spirit by illuminating our minds with knowledge and shunning all evil.

                 Regional Director Amritsar Zone Dr.(Mrs.) Neelam Kamra Principal BBK DAV College for Women, Lawrence Road and the Manager of the school Dr. K.N. Kaul Principal DAV College, Hathi Gate sent their best wishes for the teachers and the students. They advised the students to create awareness among the masses to celebrate Diwali in a green, clean and safe way with an atmosphere filled with the spirit of mirth, love and happiness.

                  Dr. Neea Sharma Principal of the school blessed the students on this day. While addressing the students she stressed on celebrating a cracker free diwali. She advised the students to empathise with the people of Jammu and Kashmir and donate generously for their rehabilitation. She said that Diwali festivity should mark by bringing smile on the faces of have nots and not polluting the environment.
