Two days Diwali Mela organized by Fine Arts Dept. of BBK DAV College for Women

Amritsar, Oct. 21 (Punjab Post Bureau) – BBK DAV College for Women Fine Arts Department organized two days Diwali Mela in the college from 20th to 21st of October. The chief guest was Ms. Reena Jaitly, Vice Chairperson of Punjab State Forest department. Madam Jaitly was welcomed by the college Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Neelan Kamra, Head, Dept. of Fine Arts, Dr. Neeta Mohindra and staff members to attend the event.  The Mela included various Arts and Craft items prepared and sold by the students. The various items included decorative diyas, candles, pots, torans, rangoli colors, Mehndi and nail art. Apart from this, designer paper bags, greeting cards, stuffed toys, handbags and paintings were also made by the students. Students also prepared eatables such as chocolates, muffins, sandwiches, bhelpuri and pani puri. The main purpose was to encourage the students towards vocationalization of their talent. All the college students and staff members bought many items displayed in the Mela. Chief guest Madam Reena Jaitly also bought many items to encourage the students. H.O.D Dr. Neeta Mohindra and staff members Dr. Aditi, Dr. Shalindra, Mrs. Shefali, and Ms. Poonam, Ms. Sumedha, Ms. Raman, Mr. Naresh and Ms. Falguni appreciated the efforts made by the students. On the whole, the Diwali Mela was a huge success for the Fine Arts Department.
