The main aim of the Rally is to generate mass awareness about Childhood Cancer\u00a0and to ensure best treatment care and support for all children detected with childhood cancer in the state of Punjab.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Rally comprising of 19 rally cars with 59 participants including 14 childhood cancer survivors, 6 parents, 4 adult cancer survivors, and many other rally enthusiasts from different walks of life.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Speaking on the occasion the D.C said, \u201cThis movement is close to my heart and I wholeheartedly support the cause and hope that something special can be done in making public aware of cancer prevalent in Children\u201d. Appreciating the efforts of the Cankids Organisation, he said that this type of massive awakening done by the organizers will be a great help to the state as the message spread by them is going to the people where it is required.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 He also informed that the Punjab government was also contemplating of providing paediatric\u00a0oncology and tertiary health services to each and every child of the state suffering from cancer.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 According to Ms. Poonam Bagai,\u00a0Founder Chairman Cankids and herself a Cancer survivor,\u00a0said that 9 awareness programs at cancer centers Sangrur and Bhatinda, Colleges at Mansa and Faridkot has organized and now they going tod Guman in Gurdaspur and the Max Foundation funded school at Rail Majra, Ropar. Rally participants will also distribute specially created childhood cancer awareness material in towns and villages as they drive through. They would be going all over\u00a0\u00a0Punjab to sensitize people and focus on childhood cancers, create awareness and initiate a dialogue among stakeholders to ensure best treatment, care and support to kids in Punjab,&#8221; said Bagai.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 She said that Childhood Cancer Survivors from Kidscan Konnect\u2013the Teenage and Young Adult Group of Cankids will lead the Rally and campaign performing street plays and flash mobs, sloganeering, collecting pledges and creating awareness.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 She also apprised that with the launch of Go Gold Punjab, the Punjab Government has signed\u00a0a 5 year MOU\u00a0with Cankids Kidscan, National Society for Change for Childhood Cancer in India, to focus special attention on childhood cancer.
