This was the 4<sup>th<\/sup> annual conference of Punjab Chapter of Association of Surgeons of India (PCASI). The conference was graced by the presence of Padam Shree Dr. Raghu Ram Pillarisetti, President, Association of Breast Surgeons of India, Director, KIMS-Ushalakshmi Centre for Breast Diseases, Hydrabad &amp; CEO, Ushalakshmi Breast Cancer Foundation, as an Honorable Chief Guest and Dr. Roop Singh, Chief Secretary, SGPC as Guest of Honor.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On this occasion Dr. Raghu Ram Pillarisetti highlight the new surgical treatment options increasing the efficacy of breast cancer patients. He said the surgical treatment of breast cancer has undergone continuous and profound changes over the last four decades. Today, the aesthetic satisfaction of breast cancer patients combined with the oncological safety is the goal of the modern breast surgeon. New surgical procedures called \u201cconservative mastectomies\u201d are emerging as techniques that combine oncological safety and cosmesis by entirely removing the breast parenchyma sparing the breast skin and nipple-areola complex (NAC).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The conference explored varied topics of surgical diseases conducted by delegates hailing from different parts of the state. More than 300 delegates came from the different corners of the state attended the conference. The conference was a huge success with its scientific program, warm hospitality and arrangements appreciated by the delegates.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On this occasion&nbsp;Dr. Roop Singh, Secretary, Sri Guru Ram Das Charitable Hospital Trust, Sri Amritsar, Dr. Kulwant Singh Ded, Vice Chancellor, Sri Guru Ram Das University of Health Sciences, Sri Amritsar, Dr. Raghu Ram Pillarisetti, President, Association of Breast Surgeons of India, Director, KIMS-USHALAKSHMI Centre for Breast Diseases &amp; CEO, Ushalakshmi Breast Cancer Foundation, Dr. A. P. Singh, Dean, Sri Guru Ram Das University of Health Sciences, Sri Amritsar, Dr. Manjit Singh Uppal, Director Principal, Sri Guru Ram Das Institute of medical Sciences &amp; Research, Sri Amritsar, Amandeep Singh, Deputy Registrar, Sri Guru Ram Das University of Health Sciences, Sri Amritsar, Doctors &amp; faculty members from all the state and other vital personalities were present conducting the proceeding.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Amritsar, 24 Nov.
