He said during the last 12 years PITEX has built its unique image not only in Punjab but also abroad.&nbsp;People eagerly&nbsp;await for this event.&nbsp;Appealing the general public to&nbsp;visit&nbsp;the event, the&nbsp;Deputy Commissioner said that this is proud moment for Amritsarians that&nbsp;an international&nbsp;expo like PITEX is being organised&nbsp;in the City.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Addressing the Press Conference, R S Sachdeva, Chairman, Punjab State Chapter, PHDCCI&nbsp;said that PITEX will be inaugurated on December 6, jointly by Hon\u2019ble Minister of Local government, Tourism and Cultural affairs,&nbsp;S.Navjot Singh Sidhu and Sh.&nbsp;O.P.Soni,&nbsp;Hon\u2019ble Minister of&nbsp;Education &amp;&nbsp;Food Processing, Punjab. Apart from NSIC, MSME and National Jute Board, PITEX will also&nbsp;seeparticipation from PSIEC, GMADA, Punjab Agro Industry Corporation, PEDA, Milkfed, Markfed, amongst others.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He further said that besides encouraging industrial sector, CSR activities will also be undertaken during PITEX. In this regard, a Walkathon to promote organ donation will be held at 8:00 am on 9th December and a Health Talk on&nbsp;Causes, Symptoms, Prevention and Treatment of Heart diseases and Recent Advances in Joint Replacement in&nbsp;association with Fortis Escorts on 8<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;Dec.&nbsp; PHDCCI will conduct a visit of students from Mission Deep Educational Trust \u2013 an Amritsar based NGO engaged in providing education &amp; other facilities to underprivileged students.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Ranjeet Mehta, Principal Director&nbsp;and PHDCCI said that it was for the first time when all the stalls have been booked prior to start of&nbsp;the&nbsp;event. This time&nbsp;exhibitors&nbsp;from Afghanistan, Turkey, Thailand&nbsp;and Egypt are also participating in PITEX.&nbsp;Pakistani products will also be on display &amp; sale during the event.&nbsp;Apart from these, states like Jharkahnd, J&amp;K and Rajasthan are also participating in big way&nbsp;in the event.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A seminar on&nbsp;Capacity Building Of MSME&nbsp;to make them globally competitive will also be organised on 7<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;December,&nbsp;Hon\u2019ble Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of Punjab, Sh.&nbsp;Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi&nbsp;will be the&nbsp;Chief Guest&nbsp;at&nbsp;the MSME Conclave on 7<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;December.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The&nbsp;Regional Director,&nbsp;PHD Chamber of Commerce&nbsp;and Industry,&nbsp;&nbsp;Madhu Pillai&nbsp;informed&nbsp;that this time over 425 stalls have been established over a spread of 10 thousand square meters. She said in 2005, when PITEX was started in Amritsar, approximate 150 industrialists participated and&nbsp;the event received&nbsp;merely 50 thousand visitors. Now&nbsp;with&nbsp;cooperation with the State Govt.,&nbsp;PITEX has grown many folds, there were around 2.5 lac visitors last year and this year number is expected to cross 3 lac.
