Punjab and Haryana High Court Justice Fatehdeep Singh was the Chief Guest. Registrar Prof. K.S. Kahlon welcomed the Alumni of the University and discussed the significance of community culture amongst alumni and faculty that is of utmost importance for taking University to new academic hights. Prof. B.S. Bajwa Dean Alumni Association presented Report and informed about stepts underway for linking university with the academic world. The chief guest of the day Justice Fatehdeep Singh said that the need of the hour was to adopt new techniques as per the requirements of changing world. He said it was the dire need of the hour to make country making education as jobs provider. The guest honor of the day S Dilbagh Singh, DGP J &amp; K while being nostaljic depicted his times in the University acknowleding that whatever he was today was because of the University. He particularly refered to the contribution of Prof. Gurnam Singh and Dr. Kuldip Singh Coordinator of IAS Centre.&nbsp; Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh, who is also Vice President of GNDU ALUMNI said that the steps were being undertaken to strengthen the Alumni Association in such a way that it could address contemporary social problems. Kulwant Singh from Roko Cancer Institution introduced Punjab Based Cancer Programme of his NGO. Prof. Jaspal Singh Sandhu, Vice Chancellor said that the alumni of the university have risen to great heights in diverse fields. The alumni were holding key positions in the academics, judiciary, IFS, IAS, PCS, PCS juducial , Indian Police Services, Federal Services, Corporate Sector, Political Parties, Public\/Pharma Sector and Punjab Civil Services etc. The Alumni of the University happened to be Vice Chancellors in many Universities in India. Notable among those who attended alumni meet were Dr. Manmohan Singh (IPS &amp; Additional Director Intelligence Bureau); Dr. Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh (IGP) &amp; Vice-President of Executive Council AAGNDU; S. Manjit Singh Nijjar (UK) Second Vice-President of AAGNDU &amp; Advisor UK &amp; Europe Chapter; Dr. Vijay Babbar (President, Eastern Canada Chapter &amp; Member Alumnus&nbsp;&nbsp;from Abroad of AAGNDU); S. Rajbir Singh Randhawa (President, US Chapter), S. Surjit Singh Sandhu (President UK &amp; Europe Chapter); S. Gurdev Singh Sahota (ADGP-Retd.); Dr. Manpreet Singh (DGPC); S. Balwinder Singh (Secretary, Dharam Prachaar Committee); Mr. Manohar Kant Lakhotia (PSEB Chairman); Mr. Lakhmir Singh&nbsp;&nbsp;(Joint Secretary-cum-Joint Director Tourism &amp; Cultural Affairs, Punjab);&nbsp;&nbsp;Mrs. Harpreet&nbsp;Randhawa&nbsp;&nbsp;(Vice President, Canada BC Chapter); S. Jagdeep Singh (Secretary, UK &amp; Europe Chapter); S. NP Singh (Dean PTU); Dr. Jasbir Singh Hundal (Registrar, PTU).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Prof. Kamaljit Singh, Dean Academic Affairs presented Vote of Thanks.
