Amritsar, May 22 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Three women players Reet, Priyanka and Gagandeep \"PUNJ2205201908\"from Khalsa Hockey Academy (KHA) under Khalsa College Charitable Society have been selected for the core junior Indian Hockey team for Women. They will be representing the country in the junior test series against Ireland and Belarus.<\/p>\n

            KCGC honorary secretary Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina hailed the performance of the girl athletes which led to their selection and said that it is a matter of great pride and honour that 3 outstanding players from our academy who are students of historic Khalsa College have been selected by Hockey India for the team and will represent our country in the forthcoming International Hockey tournaments.<\/p>\n

            Academy\u2019s sports Director Dr. Kanwaljeet Singh congratulated the students and added that KCGC management had taken a far sighted decision of establishing this academy to promote the national game of Hockey in Punjab and Northern India. He added that the academy will flourish and its players are eyeing to represent India in the next 2020 Olympic Games.<\/p>\n

            Principal Dr. Mehal Singh, Chief Coach Baldev Singh, and sports in charge Dr. Daljit Singh said recently the girls won accolades for winning the prestigious Nehru Cup (Delhi), Youth Olympics (Netherlands), U-18 Asian Games (Thailand), U-13 Six Nations Tournament Belgium, Spain, Test matches in Australia and Khelo India Games.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
