Organisation by Sushma Group after completing four successful months enters its second phase. The initiative started in January has so far fed 20000 underprivileged people and is expanding rapidly. Starting from Sushma’s society the initiative has now attracted many big names in the Tricity including major food chains, bars, restaurants and NGOs.<\/p>\n
The motive behind the noble step taken by Sushma foundation is to prevent the wastage of food and donating to the less fortunate. From collecting leftover food in vans from Sushma Square, a group of different projects at Ghazipur road Dhakoli in Zirakpur the initiative grew swiftly to having the neighboring societies and big names including Tawa restaurant, Chawla’s Chicken and Krishna Sweets and Dairy as their contributors.<\/p>\n
A large number of people are adding up and becoming a part of this noble step taken by Sushma Group. People have started celebrating their birthdays and special days by donating fruits, vegetables and freshly prepared food to the needy under “Food for All”. A surplus amount of food is collected on a regular basis and is distributed among the deprived ones to provide them at least a one-time meal.<\/p>\n
To ensure the quality of food a proper inspection and auditing of food is done. Recently the initiative has been given thumbs up, by the officials to the food which is being distributed at different locations. Also, for keeping the food fresh and to prevent it from turning stale in summers, cold storage and freezers have been installed in the food collecting vans.<\/p>\n
Under this initiative, the group also provides free food for the laborers working on its construction sites every Sunday. To express gratitude for their hardwork the group also organised a treat for them on labour day where sweets were distributed amongst them.<\/p>\n
While talking about the initiative Mr. Prateek Mittal, Executive Director of Sushma Group said, “We are overjoyed with the response that “Food for All” got. This initiative has been inspiring organisations and people to come forward and become a part of this noble cause since the day of its inception.
