This Programme is being conducted under the aegis of the Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya National Mission (PMMMNMTT) on Teachers and Teaching, which is a brainchild of the MHRD. As many as&nbsp;forty-five&nbsp;teachers from a wide spectrum of academic disciplines from Punjab and other states are participating.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Highlighting the paramount significance of such Programmes, Prof.Jaspal Singh said that the teaching profession entails not only the classroom teaching and research work, but also is closely associated with the other responsibilities as well. Drawing a parallel between the training programmes of the probationers of the civil services, he opined that such programmes are of equal importance, if not more, for the teachers as well, who play a vital role in moulding the younger generations. The deep understanding of the rules and regulations governing the teaching profession, the hierarchy of the university\/college administration, academic leadership etc. are the various tasks associated with the teaching profession, he concluded.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Prof. (Dr.) Adarsh Pal Vig, Director described the continuous lifelong learning for the teaching fraternity at large as indispensable. Taking it into consideration these programmes are conceived by the competent authorities, which needs to be attended whole-heartedly by the teachers transcending their disciplines to derive the maximum possible benefits. Prof. (Dr.) Sukhprit Singh, Dept. of Chemistry and the Coordinator of the Programme apprised the participants about the thrust area of the Programme, which has been designed strictly in accordance with the guidelines of the MHRD.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Earlier the Chief Guest was accorded a warm welcome by Prof. Adarsh Pal Vig, Prof. Sukhprit Singh and Dr. Mohan Kumar by presenting him a sapling.
