{"id":150740,"date":"2019-06-30T17:06:47","date_gmt":"2019-06-30T17:06:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/punjabpost.in\/welcome\/?p=150740"},"modified":"2019-06-30T17:06:47","modified_gmt":"2019-06-30T17:06:47","slug":"2nd-anniversary-goods-services-tax-celebrated-1st-july-2019","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/punjabpost.in\/welcome\/150740","title":{"rendered":"2nd anniversary of Goods &#038; Services Tax to be celebrated on 1st July 2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">New Delhi, June 30 (Punjab Post Bureau) &#8211; The second anniversary of Good &amp; Services Tax (GST) <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-full wp-image-121948 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/punjabpost.in\/welcome\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/GST.jpg\" alt=\"GST\" width=\"640\" height=\"391\" srcset=\"https:\/\/punjabpost.in\/welcome\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/GST.jpg 640w, https:\/\/punjabpost.in\/welcome\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/GST-300x183.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/>will be celebrated tomorrow with Hon\u2019ble Union Minister of State of Finance and Corporate Affairs Shri Anurag Thakur presiding over the event.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Shri Subhash C. Garg, Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs, Dr. Ajay Bhushan Pandey, Revenue Secretary, Secretaries of the Ministries of Finance, Shri P.K. Das, Chairman CBIC, Members of CBIC, and senior officers of various Ministries of Government of India will also attend the event. Senior functionaries of the apex chambers of commerce, trade and industry will also be present in large numbers. Similar functions will be held across the country in all States and Union Territories.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">GST was launched on the 1<sup>st<\/sup>&nbsp;July, 2017 in a majestic ceremony held in the Central Hall of Parliament on the midnight of 30<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;June, 2017. Hence, the Government alongwith partners from the trade and industry is celebrating the 2<sup>nd<\/sup> Anniversary of GST on 1<sup>st<\/sup> July 2019.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">However, the implementation of GST has not been without challenges especially in the early months. But thanks to the cooperation of the Trade and Industry and the yeoman service rendered by the GST authorities of the States and the CBIC, these challenges have been overcome and GST has now settled down. Hence, the Government is commemorating the true spirit of <strong>G<\/strong>rowing and <strong>S<\/strong>haring <strong>T<\/strong>ogether (GST).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">At the event a book on \u201cGST for MSME\u201d will also be released. The distinguished officers of CBIC who have put in hard work in the implementation of GST will be awarded \u2018GST Commendation Certificates\u2019 by the Union Minister of State Shri Anurag Thakur.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><u>Some advantages of GST:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Simplified Tax Structure: <\/strong>Reduction in cascading effect of taxes, transparent and has harmonisation of laws and procedures.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Easy Compliance: <\/strong>compliance burden has come down with one pan-India tax replacing multiple taxes and automated processes<strong>.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Promoting Trade and Industry: &nbsp;<\/strong>Seamless flow of tax credit.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Spurring Economic Growth: <\/strong>Creation of unified common national market.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>New Delhi, June 30 (Punjab Post Bureau) &#8211; The second anniversary of Good &amp; Services Tax (GST) will be celebrated tomorrow with Hon\u2019ble Union Minister of State of Finance and Corporate Affairs Shri Anurag Thakur presiding over the event.
