Madan Mohan Malaviya National mission on Teachers and Teaching organized a workshop on Instructional Strategies for Teachers. As many as 21 participants from various education institutions from all over India participarted.<\/p>\nAmritsar, 9 August (Punjab Post Bureau) – School of Education of the Guru Nanak Dev University under Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya National mission on Teachers and Teaching organized a workshop on Instructional Strategies for Teachers. As many as 21 participants from various education institutions from all over India participarted.<\/p>\n
Professor K. S. Kahlon, Registrar was the Chief Guest of the valedictory session of the seven days workshop on Action Research and Case Studies. Professor Amit Kauts, Project Co-ordinator, SOE welcomed the chief guest and highlighted the pivotal role of educators in the journey towards shaping the nation\u2019s values for a sustainable future. Professor Kauts stressed that the teachers should be researchers and recognize the need for quality development.<\/p>\n
Professor Kahlon shared his thoughts about the critical role of teachers and their responsibility in shaping the society and nation at large. He emphasized on the responsibility of the teacher to construct and deconstruct knowledge and to shape the scholastic, co scholastic, intellectual and value framework of the students. To discharge this responsibility, Professor Kahlon stressed that the teachers should be reflective practitioners and practice action research. He congratulated the organizers for the successful completion of this workshop. <\/p>\n
Dr. Deepa Sikand, Head, Department of Education presented the report of the workshop. She expressed her concern for quality in education and shared that the programmes under School of Education have been planned keeping in view this concern.<\/p>\n
Eminent academician like Dr. Kulwinder Singh, Punjabi University Patiala, Professor Amita Pandey Bhardwaj, Professor, Department of Education, Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha, Professor Anita Nuna, Professor, Department of Gender Studies, NCERT, New Delhi, Dr. B. S. Mann, Professor, University Business School, Guru Nanak Dev University, Professor Dr. Adarsh Pal Vig, Department of Botanical and Environmental Sciences, Guru Nanak Dev University, Professor Paramjit Singh Judge, Department of Sociology, Guru Nanak Dev University, Dr. M. P. Satija, Retired Professor, Department of Library Information Science, Guru Nanak Dev University, Dr. Kuljit Kaur, Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science, Guru Nanak Dev University were the resource persons during this workshop.<\/p>\n
