White coat ceremony is symbolic of students being admitted to the medical profession. The program started by administration of Hippocratic Oath by the Director Principal Dr. M. S Uppal. This was followed by lighting the candle where the right was passed on to all students. Dr. Sahiba Kukreja, Coordinator of the MEU organized the program.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Dr. A.P Singh Dean of the University distributed specially designed back packs to the students. It is worth pointing out that as part of new MBBS curriculum applicable from 2019 admissions, a month long foundation course is in progress and the white coat ceremony was a culmination of the same.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; On this occasion Dr. A.P Singh, Dean, SGRD University of Health Sciences, Sri Amritsar, Dr. M.S Uppal, Director Principal, SGRD Institute of Medical Sciences &amp; Research, Sri Amritsar, Dr. Anupama Mahajan, Vice Principal, SGRD Institute of Medical Sciences &amp; Research, Sri Amritsar, Dr. Sahiba Kukreja, Coordinator of MEU cum Prof. &amp; Head Biochemistry, SGRD Institute of Medical Sciences &amp; Research, Sri Amritsar, Dr. Mridhu Manjari, Prof. &amp; Head, Pathology, SGRD Institute of Medical Sciences &amp; Research, Sri Amritsar, doctors and students were present.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Amritsar, Oct 11 (Punjab Post Bureau) &#8211; Medical Education Unit of SGRDIMSR organized a white coat ceremony for students of MBBS who were admitted this year.
