Akal Takht Jathedar Says Nanak\u2019s Philosophy most Relevant Today<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

 Amritsar, Nov 3 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh said that the \"PUNJ0311201908\"philosophy of Guru Nanak Dev was most relevant in the strife-torn world today. He said Nanak’s message of humanity, universal brotherhood and peace need propagation in every corner of the world.<\/p>\n

                He said this while addressing the huge gathering of devotees at historic Khalsa College during international Mega `Kirtan Darbar\u2019, organized by Khalsa College Governing Council (KCGC). The people from all walks of life converged here for the Kirtan at the picturesque campus, which was tastefully decorated for the occasion.<\/p>\n

            Jathedar called upon the whole Panth to stay united and fight the social evils including discrimination, female feticide, drugs and oppression of any kind. “Nanak called for an egalitarian society based on justice and truth\u201d, said he. The Ragis who had gathered from across region earlier recited the hymns belonging to Guru\u2019s `Bani\u2019 and enthralled the devotees with their devotional and melodious narrations.<\/p>\n

            KCGC President Satyajit Singh Majithia, vice-President Swinder Singh Kathunangal, Secretary RMS Chhina, Chancellor Raj Mohinder Majitha earlier welcomed the guests including Jathedars of various Sikh Takhts including Giani Raghbir Singh and Giani Kulwant Singh, SGPC Chief Gobind Singh Longowal and others. The Kirtan Darbar began with the recitals by Bhai Gagandeep Singh Ganganagar followed by Harjot Singh Jakhmi Jalandhar.<\/p>\n

                The 100-member group of students from various educational institutions also recited the hymns and Bani in praise of Guru which turned out to be the highlight of the event.<\/p>\n

            The College\u2019s historic building was meticulously decked up with flowers and buntings as the huge gathering of 10,000 persons thronged the campus for the religious program which was dedicated to 500th<\/sup> Parkash Purab (birth anniversary) of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. <\/p>\n

                “This is our small contribution to spread the message of Guru and we are happy that large number people have gathered here\u201d, said Majithia. He said apart from the leadership from religious arena, leaders from across the political spectrum, heads of various institutions, educationists, intellectuals, management members, staff and students of all the Khalsa institutions took part in this huge program.<\/p>\n

            “The 127 years old College is testimony to the Sikhs and Punjab\u2019s glorious history and culture and had been at the forefront to play its pivotal role in the dissemination of education and Guru\u2019s preaching for the welfare of mankind\u201d, said Principal KCA Dr. Mehal Singh adding that Guru\u2019s philosophy and teachings needed to be spread across the mankind to save the world from the evils which are setting in.
