Centre for Sustainable Habitat, GNDU (CSH) signed a MoU with Cities Forum, London to conduct need based collaborative research and training in different fields of sustainable habitat. The MoU is a major Industry-Academia linkage for research and training in identifying various challengesand exploring solutions in mobility, housing, environment, and sanitation matters in cities and villages of India. Both Institutions have agreed to organise workshops, seminars, conferences, and training programmes on the different Sustainable Development Goals and Targets of the United Nations as adopted by India. Cities Forum will act as the knowledge partner and capacity builder to CSH in different matters of sustainable habitat. Cities Forum has agreed to opt the students of the University for internship, summer training and their studio projects in the mutually agreed upon areas of research.<\/p>\n
Prof. (Dr.) Jaspal Singh Sandhu, Vice-Chancellor, Prof. S.S Behl, Dean Academic Affairs, Dr.K.S Kahlon, Registrar, Prof. Preet Mohinder Singh Bedi, Director Industry Linkages, Dr.Ashwani Luthra, Coordinator CSH, Dr.Pawan Sharma, Health Centre of the University were present on this occasion.<\/p>\n
The Vice-Chancellor viewed that such collaborative research and training activities with International organisations such as Cities Forum, London will go a long way in achieving the vision and mission of the University for Quality teaching-research and learning to attain excellence in the field of sustainable habitat. He expressed his deep concern that the MoU will benefit in the faculty, researchers and the students of the University, and the society at large by bringing new knowledgein sustainability matters of human habitat. <\/p>\n
Dr. Bedi informed that CITIES FORUM is a global organisation with a multidisciplinary international group of experts with an experienced in the breadth of topics related to sustainable urban development.
