The project is funded by the World Bank and Government of Punjab and to be implemented by MCA, said Mayor Karamjit Singh and Commissioner Komal Mittal. .<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;In a joint press statement issued here today Mayor Karamjit Singh and Commissioner Komal Mittal said that continuous treated water supply round the clock was the major focus of the Municipal Corporation Amritsar and finally the surface water will be utilized for this purpose. &#8220;The raw water will be drawn from UBD Canal at Vallah. The World Bank has already approved 70 per cent of the total funds and the balance 30 percent will be funded by the Government of Punjab\u201d, said Mayor Karamjit Singh.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; The project was aimed to improve the water supply infrastructure and would be one of the biggest investments in the water treatment, clean water tanks, transmission lines and overhead storage reservoirs, he said.
