SGPC Efforts during <\/strong>Covid-19 pandemic are commendable – Sukhbir Badal<\/strong><\/p>\n

Amritsar, May 21 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee has srarted fifth Covid \"\"Care Centre with 25-bed oxygen concentrators\u2019 facility at Gurdwara Sri Nankeana Sahib Sangrur on Friday.<\/p>\n

                         The doctors and nursing staff of Sri Guru Ramdas Institutes of Health Sciences and Research (SGRIHSR) Sri Amritsar will provide treatment to the Covid-19 patients, in this medical centre set up at Bebe Nanaki Niwas of Gurdwara Sri Nankeana Sahib. The ward will provide oxygen through concentrators while medicines would also be provided to the patients free of cost.<\/p>\n

                          This is the fifth Covid care centre at Sangrur by the SGPC. SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal inaugurated the Covid Care Centre in the presence of prominent personalities included former SGPC president Bhai Gobind Singh Longowal.<\/p>\n

                   Speaking on the occasion SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur said that the Covid-19 pandemic at world-level has taken a serious turn, which has created an atmosphere of fear. SGPC president said that more Covid care centres will be established at various places in the coming days.<\/p>\n

                      SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal said that SGPC is working hard for the betterment of humanity and when governments failed during the Covid-19 pandemic, the coming forward of SGPC was like a reassurance to the people of Punjab. \u201cThe setting up of medical wards for the treatment of Covid-19 patients is a great facility. The World Book of Records, London has also commended the SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur for the work done in five districts of Punjab. This is a matter of pride for the Sikh organization, he said.<\/p>\n

                  Sukhbir Singh Badal said that despite the dire situation due to Covid-19, the government is not caring. There is no medical facility in 17 districts of Punjab to provide treatment to Level-III Covid-19 patients. This is the reason why the death rate in Punjab is so high.<\/p>\n

            On this occasion, SGPC senior vice-president Surjit Singh Bhitewad, SAD leader Sikander Singh Maluka, executive member Bhupinder Singh Bhalwan, Baldev Singh Chunghan, Bibi Malkit Kaur Kamalpur, senior Akali Leader Iqbal Singh Jhunda, Baldev Singh Mann, Prakash Chand Garg, Hari Singh Preet, Gulzar Singh Dibra, Giani Niranjan Singh Bhutal, Teja Singh Kamalpur, Jathedar Gurlal Singh, Paramjit Singh Bhangu, Preet Mahinder Singh Bhaike, Tejinder Singh Sangreri urban president, Dr. Sukhbir Singh OSD to SGPC president, Dr. AP Singh dean of Sri Guru Ram Das University of Health Sciences and others were present.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
