The Nagar Kirtan was commenced following the Ardas (Prayer) and head Granthi of Sri Harmandar Sahib Giani Jagtar Singh honoured the Panj Piaras (Five beloved ones), Nishanchi (Sikh flag carriers) and Nagarchi (drumbeaters) Singhs with Siropaos.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;At the inauguration, Giani Jagtar Singh enshrined the holy saroop (scripture) of Sri Guru Granth Sahib in the golden palanquin and offered the service of doing Chaur Sahib. A large number of SGPC members, representatives of various religious Sabha Societies were present in the Nagar Kirtan.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;The Gatka, band parties, kar sewa personalities and the Sangat participated with enthusiasm and organised different types of Langars. The Sangat warmly welcomed the Nagar Kirtan and paid obeisance while it was on its route at Brahm Boota Market, Mahna Singh Road, Jallianwala Bagh, Lakkar Mandi Bazaar, Sultanwind Gate, Water Tank, Swaran House, Golden Cloth Market, Sultanwind Road, Tej Nagar Chowk, Bazaar Shaheed Udham Singh, Bazaar Kot Mahna Singh and Tarn Taran Road.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Those who attended the Nagar Kirtan included additional head granthi of Sri Harmandar Sahib Giani Jagtar Singh Ludhiana, head granthi of Sri Akal Takht Sahib Giani Malkit Singh, SGPC executive member Harjap Singh Sultanwind, SGPC member Bhai Manjit Singh Bhurakohna, Bhai Rajinder Singh Mehta, Bawa Singh Gumanpura, Bhai Ajaib Singh Abhyasi, SGPC secretary Mohinder Singh Ahli, Sukhdev Singh Bhurakohna, Dharam Prachar Committee additional secretary Dr. Paramjit Singh Saroa, OSD to SGPC President Satbir Singh Dhami, Assistant Secretary Kulwinder Singh Ramdas, Balwinder Singh Kahlwan, Harjinder Singh Kaironwal, Gurmeet Singh Buttar, manager Gurinder Singh Mathrewal, superintendent Malkit Singh Beharwal and more.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sangat welcomes Nagar Kirtan at different places Amritsar, January 26 (Punjab Post Bureau) &#8211; Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee decorated and carried out a Nagar Kirtan dedicated to the birth anniversary of Shaheed Baba Deep Singh from Sri Akal Takht Sahib today.
