Sub-committee to examine Gurbani Apps on internet – Dhami<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Amritsar, May 5 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Following orders of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, the highest temporal authority of \"\"Sikh Panth the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee has called a special meeting of Sikh political and religious jathebandis \\ at SGPC’s headquarters Teja Singh Samundri Hall on May 11, to strategise joint efforts for the release of Sikh prisoners lodged in different Indian jails for last nearly three decades.<\/p>\n

                    Addressing the media at the SGPC office on Thursday, SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh said an order has been received from Sri Akal Takht Sahib that all the Sikh organisations and institutions, including the SGPC, should make joint efforts for the release of Sikh prisoners, under which, the discussions will be held on May 11 with the representatives of Panthak Organisations.<\/p>\n

                     “This matter is very serious as the Sikh prisoners are not being released despite the fact that they have completed their sentences. On one hand, Kishori Lal, a convict in 1984 Sikh genocide has been given furlough and parole for several times but on the other hand, the Sikh prisoners who have already served more than the life imprisonment are being discriminated against”, said Harjinder Singh. He strongly criticised the Kejriwal Government in Delhi for deliberately becoming an obstruction in the release of Prof. Devinderpal Singh Bhullar.<\/p>\n

                   “As per the orders of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, the Sikh organisations and sampradas (branches) will sit together on May 11 and move forward as per the strategy decided for future in the meeting. If there would be a need for an intensified struggle, the same will be carried forward. I appeal to all the Panthak organisations to participate in this meeting”, said S. Harjinder Singh.<\/p>\n

              Meanwhile, Harjinder Singh said that as per the order of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, a sub-committee has been constituted to examine the accuracy of Gurbani on the Apps (applications) on internet. This committee is composed of SGPC office-bearers, officials, employees of the Internet Department and Law Department.<\/p>\n

                  “This committee will submit its report after examining the Gurbani of Nitnem (daily) prayers along with other Gurbani uploaded on these Apps and further action will be taken accordingly. It will be made mandatory to take approval from Dharam Prachar Committee for uploading Gurbani on the Apps or website and if anyone insists on uploading Gurbani on the App in arbitrary manner, legal action would be taken against the concerned”, said SGPC President Harjinder Singh.<\/p>\n

              About the order of Sri Akal Takht Sahib Jathedar regarding use of tanti saaz (string instruments) for Gurbani Kirtan at Sachkhand Sri Harmandar Sahib, SGPC President said that after holding discussion with the respected Head Granthi, for the time being, this will be implemented by deputing one raagi jatha daily and it will be expanded in future.<\/p>\n

                 Harjinder Singh also said that the pending salaries of concerned staff members of SGPC’s educational institutions will be cleared within two weeks. He also asked the staff of educational institutions to be proactive in carrying out the financial burden of the institutions in future so that such problems do not arise again. He also appealed to the Punjab government to immediately release the outstanding SC Scholarships of the SGPC’s educational institutions.<\/p>\n
