ALLEGORY,A Tapestry of Guru Nanak’s Travels was showcased in the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Bhawan under the aegis of Centre for Interfaith Studies of the Guru Nanak Dev University.<\/p>\nAmritsar, June 19 (Punjab Post Bureau) – A Presentation on The Making of The 24 Episode Docuseries : ALLEGORY,A Tapestry of Guru Nanak’s Travels was showcased in the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Bhawan under the aegis of Centre for Interfaith Studies of the Guru Nanak Dev University.<\/p>\n
Dr. Inderbir Singh Nijjar MLA Amritsar & President Chief Khalsa Diwan was the Chief Guest and Prof. Dr. Jaspal Singh Sandhu presided over the function. Prof. S.S Behl Dean, Academic Affairs conducted a panel discussion on experiences during making this series with Amardeep Singh Director, Executive Producer and Vininder Kaur Director, Script Writer, Music Coordinator. Prof. Anish Dua Dean Student’s Welfare conducted the proceedings of this event.<\/p>\n
Amardeep Singh said that this docuseries has been filmed in over 150 multifaith sites in 9 countries where Guru Nanak had travelled in the 15th century during s 22 year spiritual quest. These nine countries are India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Tibet, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Iran, Iraq and Saudi Arabia. In present times, most of this region is in geo-politically sensitive areas. The filming for this project began in October 2018 and it has taken 3.5 years to complete its English and Punjabi versions.<\/p>\n
He said that the docuseries also offers insights into the life of 14 Saints of the \u2018Bhakti\u2019 and \u2018Sufi\u2019 traditions who resonated with Guru Nanak\u2019s tenets of universal fellowship. Over 260 verses of Guru Nanak have been included which are sung in the traditional \u2018Raags\u2019 (musical measure) by Muslim, Hindu and Sikh musicians. Inspired by Guru Nanak, the script creates critical thinking for the viewer to unfurl his \u2018Allegoric\u2019 messages. Amardeep Singh and Vininder Kaur gave introductory presentation on this docuseris.<\/p>\n
Registrar Prof. Karanjeet Singh Kahlon OSD to Vice Chancellor, Prof. Hardeep Singh, faculty members, senior officers, students and staff members were present on this occasion. Various artists, music lovers and scholars from the city also participated in this event. <\/p>\n
