Advocate Dhami said a BJP leader sitting on a constitutional post is advocating for the All India Sikh Gurdwaras Act, while he is silent on direct interference in the Sikh Gurdwaras Act, 1925, by establishing a separate Haryana Gurdwara Committee. He said it is a dual policy, which is being adopted deliberately to create doubts in the community.<\/p>\n
SGPC President questioned whether these leaders can answer that a state government can make any amendment or interfere in the jurisdiction of the Sikh Gurdwaras Act, 1925? He said the SGPC is also in favour of the All India Sikh Gurdwaras Act, but it can never accept that jurisdiction of SGPC, established after great sacrifices, is affected.<\/p>\n
Advocate Dhami said in an interview to a Punjabi daily newspaper that a Sikh leader active for establishment of separate Haryana Gurdwara Committee said that Punjab Reorganisation Act, 1966, talked about separate Gurdwara Committees of different states is absolutely absurd. He said such Sikh leaders are cheating the Sikh community by becoming tools of the government in breaking SGPC.<\/p>\n
Advocate Dhami said that the tactics of these people who are harming the Sikh body will not be allowed to succeed and the management of Gurdwaras and institutions under SGPC jurisdiction will remain with SGPC, the constitutional body active under the Sikh Gurdwaras Act, 1925.<\/p>\n
