Power Minister said that he, his cabinet colleague Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal, all MLAs from the district and Deputy Commissioner have visited the critical places of the district. \u201c At some places including village Taragarh, Dhardion, Mahsampura, Khilchian, Dashmesh Nagar, Timmowal, Malowal, Ghonewal, Bhindisendan, Darya Musa, and Nawan Village, there was problem of water stagnation in which was resolved\u201d.<\/p>\n
Mr. ETO said that the current situation of river Ravi is out of danger there is no threat of flood in the river Sutlej also.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the Power Minister asked the officials to be prepared to take duties at the village level, take people to safe places, arrange their food and drink and arrange fodder for animals etc. He asked the district administration to be ready for deputing officials at the village level, moving people to the safe places, arranging food and water for them besides arranging fodder for the livestock to tackle with any flood like situation in the areas along the rivers.<\/p>\n
The Cabinet Minister also directed the Health Department to ensure the chlorination of water tanks in the villages and arranging required medicines for the prevention of water borne diseases. He said that the district has 7000 rooms in the schools of different villages and cities where people can be moved if needed.<\/p>\n
On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Amit Talwar said that although there was no threat of flood, but in the district still the administration is all set to meet any such challenge. All the SDMs are constantly monitoring the situation in their respective areas, said the Deputy Commissioner while adding that the administration is in constant touch with Army, BSF and NDRF to avail their help immediately as and where needed. He directed all the officials to work as a team and not to take leave or leave the station without approval.<\/p>\n
