Amritsar, Dec. 25 (Punjab Post Burea) – The novel initiative of DAV Public School , Lawrence Road to blend academic with\u00a0 co \u2013 curricular activities under the guidelines of CCE given by CBSE\u00a0 concluded amidst loud cheers with the Finals\u00a0 of the Tendulkar Trophy \u2013 Inter Section Cricket Tournament for Std IX held yesterday at DAV Complex, Amritsar . This was the second year of the tournament which commenced last year. The aim of this initiative was to develop values of team spirit, fair play, discipline , sportsmanship,\u00a0 co \u2013 operation , leadership etc. Much excitement was seen among the students as they competed and\u00a0 performed to their best , keeping the spirit of the game high. The final match was played\u00a0 between 9th<\/sup> \u2013 I and 9th<\/sup> \u2013 J . Std \u00a0– 9th<\/sup> \u2013 J emerged Winners and 9th<\/sup> \u2013 I\u00a0 were the Runner up. Some scintillating shots and performances par excellence were witnessed during the matches.<\/p>\n \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Regional Director Amritsar Zone Dr.(Mrs.) Neelam Kamra Principal BBK DAV College for Women, Lawrence Road , Amritsar and the Manager of the school Dr.K.N. Kaul, OSD DAV University, Jalandhar congratualed\u00a0 the school for such an innovative step and\u00a0 said that such activities would help in the all\u00a0 round development of the students . They blessed the winning team for its fabulous performance. Dr. Neera Sharma Principal of the school showed her satisfaction at the successful conclusion of the tournament . She encouraged the students and the teachers who have put in their best for the tournament. She added that the values\u00a0 learnt during the formative years go a long way in shaping the bright future of the students. Mrs. Reman Sharma, Supervisor Std IX & X under whose supervision the whole tournament was conducted applauded the efforts of the teams and the teachers.
