In his convocational address, Secretary, Higher Education, Punjab Dr.Roshan Sunkaria stressed on `skill development\u2019 to be the primary focus of education and called for revamping of the education system to achieve this goal.\u00a0He said the teacher\u2019s profession is the noblest and most pious profession and congratulating the degree holders, who would the future teachers, he asked them to play role in modernizing the education system. He said the present system of imparting education is turning obsolete and new methods of teaching and research are required to be adopted to make youth skilful.\u00a0Khalsa College Governing Council (KCGC) honourary secretary Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina who presided over Convocation also emphasized that aspirations of young generations are high and society and nation must be prepared to create environment to meet youth\u2019s aims. He said the youth\u2019s energy can be channelized by providing quality education. He also said growing number of youngsters is `strength of the society\u2019.\u00a0Earlier Chhina and KCE Principal Dr.Surinder Kaur Dhillon welcomed the guests. Dr.Dhillon also read the progress report of the college citing the achievements of the college in academics, cultural activities and sports.
