The experts from all over the country called for a new way of looking at teachers\u2019 education and linking it up with the practical work and community-oriented.<br \/>\nHead Department of Education, Allahabad University and President, Indian Association of Teacher Educators (IATE), Prof. P.K. Sahoo, in his key note address, emphasized on a flexible system of teacher education program to accommodate new way of imparting instructions. He proposed school based activities, community programs, written communication, oral communication and even practicing Yoga as new way of education. He suggested that the assessment should be the process of learning rather than judging.<br \/>\nProf. Anita Rastogi, from Jamia Millia Islamia University and general secretary, IATE presented conceptual framework of NCTE Regulations-2014. She focused on changes, status of teacher and teacher education and challenges of the present evaluation system. Dr. R.K. Mahajan, Dean, Colleges Development Council, GNDU, Amritsar gave the presidential remarks and focused on the need\u00a0 of uniform criteria and curriculum for teacher education.<br \/>\nEarlier KCE Principal Dr.JS Dhillon welcomed the guest speakers and said such deliberations help to understand the new concepts and changing patterns of educating the teachers. He also coordinated a well-planned Panel Discussion in which the experts freely expressed their concerns over the new curriculum being introduced by NCTE.<br \/>\nDuring the technical sessions, presentation by Prof. S.K. Bawa from Punjabi University, Patiala, Dr.Amit Kauts, Dean Education, GNDU, Amritsar , Prof. Renu Nanda, Deptt. of Education, University of Jammu, gave their valuable tips.
