As many as 62 teachers from different CBSE Schools\u00a0 of Amritsar participated in the workshop.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The workshop was inaugurated by Dr.Neera Sharma, Principal, DAV Public school,\u00a0 Lawrence Road, Amritsar which was followed by floral welcome, lighting of the lamp and the CBSE song . Dr.Neera Sharma ji formally welcomed the Resource Persons from CBSE , Mrs.Deepa Dogra , Principal, Cambridge International School, Jalandhar and Dr.Chand Trehan , Counsellor and Consultant. The skilfully planned, interactive and activity oriented workshop aimed at various practices that \u00a0teachers can incorporate to bring in awareness and sensitise students as it is the burning issue and \u00a0the need of the hour. The resource persons discussed the importance of gender sensitivity among the students so that they grow into\u00a0 adults with a sensitive heart. They asked the teachers to take up the issue in the class and inculcate the value of respecting each other through different activities taken from time to time. It was a very interesting and interactive session. The teachers discussed the problems and the mental set up of the parents which sometimes serve as a hindrance in this .<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Regional Director, Amritsar Zone Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra, Principal, BBK DAV College for Women, Lawrence Road and the Manager of the school, Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Principal DAV College, Hathi Gate appreciated CBSE\u00a0 for taking \u00a0the initiative. They said that it was an important issue which needs to be dealt at the earliest. Dr. Neera Sharma, Principal of the school thanked the resource persons for their time. She added that gender sensitisation should be taken up in classes by the teachers along with value based teaching. This will help in building a society that is rich\u00a0 in values and provides equal opportunities to both males and females .
