Lawrence Road celebrated the UNICEF Day to show its commitment towards the development and assistance to children who are deprived of the basic amenities and education. UNICEF was created by the United Nations General Assembly on December 11, 1946 to provide emergency food and healthcare to children. Realising the importance of healthy and educated future generation, the students of the school stressed on the importance to fight malnutrition, child abuse, child labour and illiteracy among children for better future. The students pledged to spread awareness among the masses to send children to school and maintain hygienic surroundings for their well being.\u00a0Regional Director, Amritsar Zone , Dr.(Mrs.) Neelam Kamra, Principal BBK DAV College for Women, Lawrence Road and the Manager of the school , Dr. Rajesh Kumar , Principal DAV College , Hathi Gate said \u00a0that it was the duty of every citizen to provide healthy environment to children for their all\u00a0 round development.\u00a0Dr. Neera Sharma, Principal of the school , while addressing the students said that education can bring much awareness about children\u2019s rights , thus\u00a0 our main emphasis should be on educating everyone.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Amritsar, Dec. 11 (Punjab Post Bureau) &#8211; DAV Public School.
