Jan 6 (Punjab Post Bureau)- \u00a0Indira Gandhi National Model United Nations \u2013 2015 conference was held\u00a0 at Lovely Professional University recently. The conference was graced by Sheila Dixit, the former Chief Minister , Delhi and the former Chief Minister of Punjab alongwith many other eminent guests. The conference, which had open participation, was attended by as many as 1000 delegates from all over India. Two students from DAV Public School, Lawrence Road participated in this conference and created a niche for themselves.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Shashank Mehra\u00a0 of Std. X was a member in a committee \u2018Commission on Status of Women\u2019 where he discussed ways to stop gender violence and won the High Commendation Award. Another student, Ribhav Kundra of\u00a0 Std XI was a member of a committee\u2019 United Nations Office on Drug and Crime\u2019. He debated on the menace of drugs and crime \u00a0related\u00a0 to it and won the Special Mention Award.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Both the students were highly applauded for their confidence, knowledge about the subject and impressive oratory skills. Regional Director, Amritsar Zone Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra and the Manager of the school, Dr. Rajesh Kumar congratulated the students for their performance. Dr. Neera Sharma, Principal of the school applauded their efforts and said\u00a0 that she was happy to see her students shine at a National platform.
