{"id":57266,"date":"2016-02-29T07:10:29","date_gmt":"2016-02-29T07:10:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/punjabpost.in\/welcome\/?p=57266"},"modified":"2016-02-29T07:10:29","modified_gmt":"2016-02-29T07:10:29","slug":"63-cavalry-diamond-jubilee-cycle-expedition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/punjabpost.in\/welcome\/57266","title":{"rendered":"63 Cavalry Diamond Jubilee Cycle Expedition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Amritsar, Feb. 28 (Punjjab Post Bureau) &#8211; 63 Cavalry is celebrating its Diamond Jubilee at Amritsar.\u00a0\u00a0 To commemorate the event a Diamond Jubilee Cycle Expedition flagged off by Lt Gen KJ Singh, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Command from Bhuj on 13 Feb 2016 completed its first phase by reaching Alwar on 28 Feb 2016.\u00a0\u00a0 The team has covered a distance of 1200 kms up to Alwar, the birth place of 63 Cavalry. The regiment was raised at Jai Paltan Lines (Alwar) on 02 Jan 1957. Second phase of this expedition will be flagged off from Alwar on 03 Mar 2016 for Amritsar.\u00a0 The team of one officer, one Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) and 11 other ranks led by Capt Himanshu Karan has\u00a0\u00a0 traversed through the rugged terrain from Rann of Kutch, Thar Desert to the Hills of Aravalis.\u00a0\u00a0 The team established a connect with the veterans of the regiment and invited them for the Diamond Jubilee celebrations at Amritsar.\u00a0\u00a0 The team also spread the spirit of adventure amongst the local youth and projected the image of the Indian Army.\u00a0\u00a0 Cycling through these areas provided an opportunity for the team members to inculcate the spirit of camaraderie by giving a judicious mix of challenge, adventure and thrill by pitching them against the nature.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Amritsar, Feb. 28 (Punjjab Post Bureau) &#8211;
